Physical Education
PE is taught using Get Set for PE and adapted to suit our learners. Through different topics, we focus on developing a broad range of foundational movement skills in a fun, inclusive, and engaging way. Children are introduced to key physical skills including running, jumping, hopping, skipping, balancing, throwing, catching, and kicking, which form the basis for more complex movements as they progress. Our curriculum promotes coordination, agility, and spatial awareness, helping pupils understand how to control their bodies safely and effectively. Through structured play and games, children learn important social and cognitive skills including teamwork, turn-taking, communication, and problem-solving. Additionally, the programme supports personal development by encouraging confidence, resilience, and a positive attitude towards physical activity, ensuring that our children build the fundamental skills and motivation needed for lifelong participation in sport and physical activity.
Dance is cross curricular including Chinese New Year and Bhangra workshops with all children performing across the year. Year 2 take part in Cricket from Time to Shine.
